About ANECAM

History

ANEC was founded in 2011 by six nurse educators:  Mrs. Bitah Isabella, Mrs. Epie Ruffina, Mrs. Metuge Edna, Mrs. Bawak Lucy, Mr. Maboh M. Nkwati, and Mr. Che George. The group expanded to 11 members the following year with the inclusion of Mr Ndele Charles, Mr. Balingwe Nelson, Mme Nga Rose, Mme Catherine Agbor, and Mme Ndong Etheldreda.

ANEC is made up of nurse researchers, educators and instructors. It is an autonomous not-for-profit organisation that seeks to work in collaboration with government agencies, international organisations, NGOs and other allied organisations on a wide range of issues relevant to the education of nurses. ANEC’s legal status is defined by the Ministry of Territorial Administration through decision of Senior Divisional Officer for Fako.

ANEC is made up of the following organs:

  • Board of Directors
  • Executive Committee

Mission

The mission of the Association of Nurse Educators of Cameroon is to champion and actively contribute to the improvement and advancement of nurse education in Cameroon.

Objectives

ANEC seeks to:

  1. Collaborate with all stakeholders (Government Agencies, Nursing Associations, Nursing Schools, Hospitals, Health Centres, and International Organisations etc.) in the development, implementation and evaluation of nursing programmes.
  2. Promote evidence-based innovation in nurse education programmes.
  3. Promote research, continuing professional development and lifelong learning among professionals
  4. Influence nurse education policy development, implementation and evaluation
  5. Lead advocacy for the nurse educators and researchers.
